Rainy Day

It is 2 PM and the big rain storm is past. 1.4 inches in the gauge and everything was/is a muddy mess again.

These pictures were out the kitchen window about 8 AM. I had to go out about 1 PM to feed 2 round bales to the cows. The forecast is for a couple of cool 45-50 days now (as is usually the case after a rain storm moves through). And then a pretty consistent pattern of 60s and even 70s over the remainder of the month. That should get things popping!

  1. Sounds like spring has come to your area! I am so anxious for consistent 60's and 70's. It's a little early for that here, but any day now, the daffodils will be blooming! The trees are just beginning to have a slightly green hue about them if you look closely and use your imagination! :)

    1. You aren't that far behind us, sounds like. Most daffodils have been blooming for awhile here, and tree pollen counts are high. Big thing here is the rain...it has been muddy more than not all winter.

  2. Aren't you thrilled to see that rain! We are getting more than last year here too.

We are still feeding hay but should be able to quit around the end of the month.

Just ordered fertilizer for the hay fields! So now we really want some rain this spring.

    1. Actually, I have been griping because we have been too wet !! But I know better....I well remember last year when I had to feed hay in May and June after pasture dwindled.

Grass is just starting to grow here, so hay feeding may go into April. I hope you get the rain you need.
